"The play is more than just the story of Bunny’s legal success: it’s also a reminder of the strong network of incredible female forces throughout history. Brodwin relates this power through her captivating occupation of the stage. "                                                                          - Yale Daily News, Review of Bunny

“No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”
- Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972

Dr. Bernice "Bunny" Sandler is the most consequential feminist you've never heard of: in 1969, she found a footnote and filed the lawsuit that turned into Title IX (which made sex discrimination illegal in education, including athletics and sexual harassment).

Bunny, Godmother of Title IX is an original one-woman show about Bunny's incredible true story, told by her great-niece Rora. What happens when we look within our own families for sources of strength and empowerment? In the wake of #MeToo and Time's Up, this tale of an ordinary feminist hero sheds light on how the smallest braveries can have the largest impact on the world.

Originally premiering at Yale University in April 2018 and receiving the Yale Trumbull College Fine Arts Award, Bunny was most recently produced at the Dixon Place Theater in New York to a sold-out audience.

We would be thrilled to bring Bunny, Godmother of Title IX to your venue. Title IX continues to transform the landscape of higher education, and this show gives historical weight (or, her-storical) to the many facets of Title IX implementation seen day-to-day on college campuses. Educational, timely, heartwarming, funny, and personal - this is a show for students, parents, staff, and faculty alike.
